Liz, Maybe your peice is helpful/interesting, or maybe I'm lost. Okay. I'm lost. Substack has a lot of moving parts and I'm trying to find the beginning (if there is one). I have a name, my substack has a URL for sharing, and my substack has a name. I'm lost. I wrote a post. I wrote a chat. I replied to two chats (this is one, I think). I have an image and a backaground image. On my what? On my substack? My profile? I have a bio? I have a short descrption of "newletter" (which is also my substack?).
BTW, I have a PhD in Statistics. So I think I can understand this. I have written a eight books. I have used Facebook, Instragram and X successfully. I'm a member of our local Writer's Guild.
But Substack is a rough start. So before I get to restacks and notes, how do I talk to people? I think I see how I would post, and I think I've posted.

Yes, your newsletter is where your Substack home page lives (I like to think of it as the home page, similar to that of a website). It all looks great.
It takes time, effort, and patience to cultivate an audience on Substack. I suggest you begin by posting short Notes that get to the heart of what you are thinking and wish to share. Doing so will help you find interested readers. The best and most efficient way to meet other writers is to respond to their posts and notes.
