WEEK 11 SUBSTACK: REFLECTIONS | SHOUT-OUTS
Connecting Voices, Sharing Stories, and Embracing Kindness: A Week of Learning and Inspiration
It’s been another inspiring and nurturing week here on Substack.
This week, I was inspired to write about mentors—those guiding lights who shape our lives in quiet, lasting ways.
Never in my wildest imagination did I think running away from school at eight years old would spark a meaningful relationship that spanned decades.
Here’s a link to: The Day I Ran Away
I’m still not exactly sure where this creative journey is headed—but the path continues to unfold, one beautiful day at a time. And for now, that’s more than enough.
My longing to be part of a larger creative community — one that values peace, kindness, the written word, the human experience, and lifting each other up — only continues to grow.

🌟 INSPIRING SUBSTACKS
ANTHONY ANSELMO
As someone who spends a great deal of time in the natural realm, I was thrilled to discover this Substack. The (Wild)erness Journal invites readers to slow down and listen deeply—to nature, to themselves, and to the spaces in between.
With reflections on wild places and inner landscapes, it’s a balm for anyone seeking meaning, stillness, and connection.
The (Wild)erness Journal’s bio states:
🌲 Author, wanderer, and believer in quiet places. I write about nature, mental health, and finding meaning in the wild.
This Substack is filled with gorgeous photographs and countless opportunities to connect with nature in ways that are powerfully reflective and nurturing. Here’s a Note that captures a moment so poignantly:
"Be like the swamp and the bog who remain wild even after everything else has been tamed. If you are searching for some sort of meaning of it all, go in and see for yourself. One is sure to stumble upon something that rouses their soul awake. Don’t let them put roads through you, that you may be easy to cross. To maintain your mystery, be like the bog and force them to build roads around you so that your internal kingdom may remain untarnished." -Anthony Anselmo, The (Wild)erness Journal
Thank you for reminding us that healing can be found in the hush of the woods and the wildness within.

🌟SAIRA ANWAR
What a delight to come across Saira’s inspiring, supportive, and compassionate Substack.
Saira’s About section beautifully states:
Hi! My name is Saira, and I’ve been writing poetry since May 2012. I’m from Manchester, UK. I’m a poet, author, and spoken-word artist. What began as a deeply personal outlet has grown into a mission: to help others heal through heartfelt storytelling, reflection, and connection. I write from lived experience, exploring themes of marriage, divorce, healing, and self-love.
My debut poetry book, The Death of a Beautiful Dream, became a Top 20 Amazon bestseller. Over a decade later, I’m now preparing to release my second collection, Rising From Despair: A Journey to Hope, a book that weaves together poetry and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
Here is a Note that captures the depth and emotional resonance of Saira’s words:
Gift yourself this beautiful read titled Do You Feel Safe in Your Own Sanctuary? You’ll be so glad you took the time to immerse yourself in Saira’s tender, heartwarming words.
Thank you, Saira, for all the gifts you bring to the Substack community—your words truly uplift, empower, and heal.
