My intuition usually detects “people” like this. When someone gives me a follow, I check out their social media and if anything feels off, they are blocked! My son is an FBI agent and has schooled me quite well on all of the scams out there, and what to look for🥰

Im sorry to say.. this behavior happens to me on a regular basis here on substack. Don't not use x because of it harsh nature (but like the reference to cross check)
Trust me they are going to change their name and story, just enough
to see if you will again listen. Then
bam the I need financial help comes. It is inherently human nature to trust and have empathy, compassion and be a good listener.
I hate that things such as this attempt to destroy that goodness.

i realized this too... quite a few bots... i can now see the pulling energy that wants me to keep responding and i immediately delete. at the beginning i was quite shocked. I'm glad you shared this to make sure its seen and recognized. it is wild how realistic it is.

I have reported many accounts on here and Substack to their credit closed them in hours. The photo of the attractive lady can usually be reversed searched on Google to a different named person. The most recent scammer changed the account name whilst I was verifying their identity!
I string them along to get enough information that I can give to Substack. The scammers usually work very quickly in asking personal questions which is in keeping with dating/pig-butchering scams.
