Well, here's to hoping aliens have a quick and easy handbook on how to savor and appreciate life without chipping away at the foundation of all that is beautiful and sacred.

On a softer note, Giving up sugar can change your body within days - good enough.

But it is NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

What happened to compassion? And empathy? And love thy neighbor?

And all the important lessons we teach the children from the moment they gasp for their first breath within this planetary realm.

We tell them:

Love, play fair, dream big, create, be kind, adapt, forgive, imagine, and above all, be HONEST when things do not go as planned.

I must ask the question.

IS ANYONE THINKING ABOUT THE CHILDREN?

They are watching and paying attention to EVERYTHING

And lead by example is not a fading bumper sticker.

It is yours, mine, and our responsibility to lift ourselves above our differences and SEEK COMMON GROUND.

Where we walk the talk:

Communicate and negotiate peaceful resolutions

Care for one another as though our connections are the lifeblood that feeds our destinies.

Give everyone grace so that they can find their most authentic self.

It is through our differences that we elevate humankind's collective strength, empathy, and compassion. We must strive to understand one another’s stories, for in doing so, we weave a formidable tapestry of the human spirit.

We CAN do better

We MUST do better

And SOON

When I was snuggling up with two toddlers on my lap many years ago, never once did I read a story that said,

It's okay for us to drop bombs on one another, tell repeated lies, and tear people from their homes.

Never once.
